questions that can kill... and make your brain freeze!

Sometimes kids are amazing... but not always...especially when they are having these questions that will shock you and somehow will make your brain stop for a while coz you can't think of an appropriate answer. My youngest son M is really a different kid not only because he likes coffee as his soup or 'sabaw' when his food is too dry for him to eat the rice. Yap! That is true, like father, like son and a typical Batangueno. Anyway, here is his question last time which was asked to me just in a proper time and a proper place ha ha ha like 7 am and in our toilet. Could you imagine that he asked, 'Dad are you circumsized also?' 'What!?' my replied. Shocked because at the age of 5, he's already asking things about hygiene! 'How come you are asking it? (trying to be calm). 'Well... I 've heard that S (his 9 yr old cousin) was circumsized and I wanna know why boys should do it? ' Well... ahmmm... every boy should be circumzised coz it is one way to have a clean 'P...' 'Well... Dad... mine is clean coz Tita H (his yaya) always clean it when I am taking a bath, so I don't need to be circumsized right?' 'Ahmmm... you have to!' 'Why should I? It is painful and I dont like it!' 'Then don't do it!' 'Ok' M's replied with a smile. Should I smile also, I don't know... I am in a hurry coz it is Monday!

'I wanna be a robotic engineer or scientist dealing with robots'

When I was a kid about 10 yrs. old, it was my dream to be a doctor and I imagined myself curing some poor people who can not afford to pay a doctor's fee, in short 'Doc for the Poor'. As the years pass by, I changed my mind and decided to be a computer engineer. Very far from the original dream (he he he) coz from being a servant, it changed to being materialistic and making lots of money, material things, luxuries in life, etc. That was my desire (before) and the reason why I did not pursue to be a doctor. Or maybe it is just my luck...

Last time my eldest son (J, 11 yrs. old) told us that it is his dream to be a robotic engineer or somekind of scientist dealing with robots. Wow! Big dream! And I am just laughing inside until I can not resist to smile coz I never imagined that J will be a scientist in the future. Really, I am just asking, how? He does not like to sit long doing his school assignment. He does not like to study in advance. One day before the exam, he is even so relax and have enough time to watch his favorite show. He is a kid that has really 'NO STRESS' in his body. And I have this question that is only in my mind 'Can he really fullfill his dream?' I hope so coz that is every parents' dream - a good future for their kids. I will pray for it J.

trying to be calmed!!!! even you have a blocked lavatory .....

Sunday is the best day for everyone, wether you are single, married or have a big family. It is always the time to visit Dad J(Lord Jesus) and talk to Him as close as possible. But sometimes it could not be a joyful day when something unexpected happens in your home. Like for instance, having a blocked lavatory (wow!!!!) and being impatient coz you can see how bad it is as the days pass by. Is it really today Dad J? And He is whispering to me... 'Do it son coz you are always busy on weekdays and perhaps you are the only one who could do it, do you have any choice?' Hmmmpppp... 'I dont have special liquid solution Dad J.' And Dad J whisper again 'You don't need any chemical son, what you need is an old toothbrush and plastic bowl.' 'What!? How could it help a blocked lavatory then?' my arrogant replied. And Dad J patiently whisper again 'Can you see the bottom part of the lavatory, open it slowly and remove some dirt inside with an old toothbrush.' I smiled and did it as quick as possible. Bwalalalala! Dad J is right! He he he he he... smile young father!

cooking... light and easy!!!! (the italian way... wow!!!)

Ever been asking why our wife is sometimes working on a weekend when it is the only chance that we young father could relax and watch our favorite show and at the same time not be bothered even if our kids are there? But I have no choice sometimes coz my wife is working as a medical technologist in a public hospital and she should do some shifting even during the weekend and that is bad news coz I have to do all (whewwww!!!) the household chores. Cooking is one of the easiest task (joke) but it has to be done in a loving and full of patience (pls. agree) way. If it is also your problem, then try my own recipe and your children will really love it and I bet, they're gonna ask when will be the next weekend shift of their mom. Since I have two kids(11 & 6 yrs old) and proud to say that they really love to eat Italian dishes, I always buy 2 pcs of instant carbonara noodle(250 g.) and preparation would only be about 5 to 7 mins. Maybe you will ask, what is the big deal about that! It's just instant noodle, everybody can do it even if the eyes are closed. But i 've been doing this in a different way. I've been adding a few pieces of sliced ham especially those that will be expired the next day(ha ha ha). Don't forget to slice it and...... add it only to your carbonara dish, a few minutes before it is done. Flavoured ham like pimiento is not a good idea to add in your carbonara dish. And don't forget the secret of having a different instant carbonara noodle - put some garlic powder a few minutes before you serve it... goodluck young father!
