How important is vaccine to our kids?


If your kids have different vitamins as supplement to their body then being a Dad, it is also our responsibility to remind our wife the important vaccine that our kids need in order to have a healthy and safety life. Do you have any idea if your kid has no vaccine at all? Then try to find out what are those and how important it is. I did some research and the following vaccine are really vital to our kids health. Hepatitis B virus (HBV)
  • Importance : To avoid long time problem such liver disease or cancer of the liver.
  • When : Immediately after birth (1st shot), 1 to 4 months (2nd ), 6 to 8 months (3rd)
Hepatitis A virus (HAV)
  • Importance : To avoid community wide epidemics and it can cause fever, nausea, vomiting and jaundice.
  • When : 12 to 2 years old(1st shot), six months later (2nd shot)
MCV4
  • Importance : It is a meningitis vaccine that protects against meningococcal disease. It is a serious bacterial infection.
  • When : 11 to 15 years old
Pneumococcal Vaccine (PCV)
  • Importance : Against the leading cause of serious infections including pneumonia, blood infections and bacterial meningitis.
  • When : 2 months(1st shot), 4 months(2nd), 6 months(3rd), 12 to 15 months (last shot)
Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Importance : The vaccine protects against chickenpox, a very contagious childhood viral illness.
  • When : 12 to 15 months(1st), 4 to 6 years old(booster)
Hib (Haemophilus Influenza)
  • Importance : It is a protection against meningitis, pneumonia, pericarditis(infection of the membrane covering the heart), infections of the blood, bones and joints caused by the bacteria.
  • When : 2 months, 4 months & 6 months, 12 to 15 months (booster)
MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Importance : The vaccine protects against measles, mumps and rubella (German measles)
  • When :12 to 15 months, 4 to 6 years
DTaP
  • Importance : To prevent diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis.
  • When : 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 15 to 18 months and 4 to 6 years
IPV (inactivated poliovirus vaccine)
  • Importance : It prevent permanent paralysis called polio. It is a viral infection.
  • When : 2 months, 4 months, 6 to 8 months, 4 to 6 years
Influenza(flu vaccine)
  • Importance : To prevent viral infection that is highly contagious and could affect the respiratory tract.
  • When : once a year specially when a kid has a chronic medical conditions
One way to show our love to our kids is by protecting them to any diseases and keeping healthy. Avoid delay, do it now!
