some reasons why your wife is furious!

Did you ever ask yourself, how come your wife is so silent but hiding the angriness inside herself or sometimes shouting her mad feeling? Don't be so blind of some small things that will hurt your wife's feelings. What are those? And how to avoid it?
  • Negative Criticism - before expressing it, understand first what you are talking about. Be specific and give some valid examples. Avoid to use the word 'never' or 'always' because it will only encourage argument. Do not criticize your wife around unpleasant environment like in front of your children, with friends or with parents-in-law. Be positive when criticizing like 'Hey honey that is a new recipe right? Wow, next time reduce the salt ok.' Never say 'Hey honey, you can not really cook!It is always salty.!'
  • Acting like a KING - means you are the BOSS at home and really does not care about the ideas of other person not even your wife. Marriage is all about partnership, it is not a good principle in mind that man has more say at home than a woman. It is not a question of who is earning more but who has a better solution to some problems at home. Always think that a KING should respect a QUEEN and threat her like a precious gold and not just a servant.

  • Help - and not just sit at home. Who is cooking at home? Who is cleaning? Who is responsible for kids assignment? And lot of WHO? If most of the answer is 'my wife' then I want to say 'WAKE-UP' because you are not a good husband!

  • Budget - your finances at home. Do not buy something that is not really needed. Prioritize first you family's need before your own desires. Do not forget to ask your wife if you like something because she might have other financial goals.

  • Sex stupid- means lack of knowledge in giving full satisfaction or orgasm. Do not be selfish in bed. Always think that it is like your first night or your honeymoon and do not say negative comment that will ruin the intimacy. Try to be open and ask your wife what she likes and dislikes in bed. Do not force your wife to do something that will make her uncomfortable in bed!

  • DO NOT FORGET TO SAY 'I LOVE YOU' AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK!

What is the best fertilizer for your lawn?

If human body needs some vitamins just to be healthy all the time, then the same logic also to your lawn and garden, it is important to have fertilizer. If you are a good observer and not just a typical buyer then do not just look for a cheaper fertilizer, try to use an ORGANIC FERTILIZER. Why? because using an inorganic fertilizer will only cause rapid growth and disease prone. Aside from the fact that it kill the micro-organism which are useful for the lawn, it can cause burning of roots and destroy soil structure. Why organic fertilizer?

  • It improves the life of the soil and maintain the healthy balance growth.
  • No toxicity and burn of the grass.
  • Micro-organism is important to your lawn and organic fertilizer stimulate it that release lot of nutrients.
  • High of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash which are vital for all lawn.
  • Increase the water holding capacity of the soil.
  • Soil allows more air to get to the grass roots because organic fertilizer increases the bacterial and fungal activity.
  • Less pollution which is important for our KIDS FUTURE!

AQUARIUM as stress prevention! (#2)

Having an idea already on how to start and to prepare the materials needed to have a hobby aquarium, then the next step will be buying the right fish for it. How & What?

How?

Before buying the right fish, it is important to stabilize first the water. Be sure to buy a liquid solution that will make the water suitable for fish. You have to switch ON the filter that give oxygen and absorbed the dirt for at least two weeks. Then you are ready now for...

What?

Because you are a starting to enjoy an aquarium, then it is my tip not to buy an expensive fish. I will recommend a goldfish, for those who really have no time to clean regularly or change the water weekly. Goldfish is usually called coldwater fish because it can be placed in an unheated aquarium. Changing every week at least 1/4 of the water is not really needed when you have a goldfish. I have been enjoying my aquarium for almost 8 years and tried different fish but goldfish is not so sensitive comparing to other one and you do not have to clean the aquarium for maximum of 2 months.

Enjoy preparing your fish, next time I will share some tips on how to properly clean it and some materials needed in cleaning.

One kid is not enough!

Do you have one kid at home? Thinking of having another kid? Is it really important to have at least two kids at home? Definitely YES! Find out why. (**picture courtesy of Flickr)

  • Mature more quickly - home has a lot of chores and responsibilities which means each kid should contribute to the family welfares. J & M have their own tasks to do something at home. J is responsible mostly in setting the table before eating and M is the one placing properly all the small things from the dishwasher like spoon, fork, etc. Each of them is accountable to a certain task that leads to self-knowledge and confidence.
  • Givers not takers - if your kids have responsibility of their own, then not doing a certain task will be not good for other brother or sister. So the root of moral development will be developed. Kids will think of 'others' and selfishness can be avoided.
  • Intellectual stimulation - having more kids means lot of conversation and playful interaction. That will strengthens the kids judgment.
  • Laughter - even trials come, a big family is a place of happiness and fun. Everything seems livelier and sharing is really heartfelt. If you are from a big family then you can remember the fun that you had together. J & M will not sleep until one of us will shout 'Tulog na kayo!!!' (Please sleep!!!) There is no end of laughing and 'biruan'!
  • Learn to be fair - every kid has his/her own differences, truly they will learn to share and have the ability to forgive and forget easily because kids can witness the moral standard with other brother or sister.
  • Self-reliance - it is really true that having a big family would need extra effort to have financial satisfaction and valuable time for the kids. In most cases, children will learn the difference between 'Wants & Needs'. They will try to earn something for what they want. If it is a basic need, then they will appreciate the true value of money. Through this character, they will have the chance to develop the moral value of virtues and patience.
  • Bonding - the older kid will play sometimes to a younger one. This will form a bond of love and affection with them. The younger kid will learn and receive love from older one, not only to their parents. I personally witness how J took care his 5 year old brother. He can give a nice bath to M, prepare breakfast and even cook something for them. Truly there is a bonding between them.
No matter what trials come to your children, they will not be alone confronting the burden and joy of life.

Educational Field Trips! Why is it important to students?

Every thing is so expensive and if you have already children going to school then being a parent, you should know how to budget wisely. One time J informed us that he is going to have a school field trip.

J: Dad can I join the school field tripthis year?
My wife: Actually Daddy, I saw the last year video of the kids who had field trip during the PTA meeting. Nice and good for J.
Me: Ok, how much is the budget?!
J: Mom can you show the letter?(shy, afraid, smiling)
My wife: Here.(smiling)
Me:What!!!!!!??? €460 !!!!(I can not breath ha ha ha)
My wife: It is not expensive coz it is a 1 week field trip all inclusive like hotel fee, travel fee, food blah blah blah.
Me: Do you know that my first school field trip cost only 100 pesos(€2)! And we did not have hotel but only ride in a bus without any air-conditioned! (hmmmp)
My wife: Here we are again! The same old story!(smiling)
Me: Ok fine! Where is the field trip J?
J: Salzburg
Me: What? Wow!
Me: My first was in Luneta!

Is it really important to have school field trips even parents have difficulty budgeting all the expenses at home? Definitely YES! Why?

the meaning of a KISS

I can not remember who is my first kiss at the age of 5 years old. One time while trying to put my shoes beside my youngest son, I was informed of something about his little love story.

M: Dad, do you know ahmmmm, I have a girlfriend already!?(smiling)
Me: Ohhhh, really? (pretending not so serious)
M: Ya!
Me: Ohhhh, what is her name?!(smiling)
J: Kasandra! (really shouted the name)
M: Kuya!!!Let me tell the story!
Me: Ok, how can you tell that she is your girlfriend? Did you court her?
M: No
Me: Then how can you say that she is your girlfriend?
M: One time I gave a toy to her and...
Me: And then what?
M: She said thank you, then kissed me!
Me: Ok and then?
M: She is my girlfriend coz she kissed me.
Me: Where is she now?
M:She is in Grade One now.
Me: What?! You told me that you have a girlfriend and how could you have a girlfriend if she is already grade one.(M is in kindergarden at the moment)
M: I know she will wait....and I will have same school like her.
Me: Ha ha ha ha.

Next time I will ask M when will he marry the girl?(ha ha ha)

The essence of being a MOM

One of the best bonding that I can say at home is watching a nice video. Last time, we had the chance to see a drama-comedy film that focus on family ties and the importance of adoption. I thought that the film is just an ordinary one until I realized that every one (B, J, & M) including myself, cried in some scene of the film. How come it really touched our heart including a 5 year old kid? (** picture courtesy of Flickr)

1. Witnessing some kids sleeping in the street.

2. Watching the struggle of a mother to her 7 kids (6 adopted).

3. Trials that ruined the relationship of the whole family such as business bankruptcy, jealousy of the real daughter, death of the grandmother and the painful one is the abandonment of the father to his family because of some financial legalities.

4. Separation of almost the whole family except the eldest daughter to their mom because of personal conflict.

5. Humbleness of the mother to say SORRY just to bring back all her 5 daughter & 1 son.

6. The ending which really astounded us is the unity of the whole family realizing that their mom is the most important person in the world.

The best part of the film is the mother's strength that has been shown through PRAYERS and lighting a candle everytime that a family member leave her.

AQUARIUM as stress prevention!

If you think that you can not avoid stress in your life and tried every possible solution like medication, massage, etc. Then try also to have a personal AQUARIUM at home. Some people put it at the living room as an additional decor but my wife and myself decided to place it in our bedroom and the result is really positive. Having more or less 8 hours work daily and doing some household jobs, hmmmm, it could be really a tough day and to mention that we have kids also, it is really not a question to relax and meditate sometimes or even before going to bed. But you have to ask first yourself if you can take care an aquarium? It is not like an electronic machine that you just switch on/off every time that you want. (**photo courtesy of Flickr)

I will focus today on what are the materials that you need. If you are a first timer and really zero knowledge on how to start it then buy first a 'hobby aquarium set'. It is a 60 liter aquarium with filter machine and automatic heater included. For your decor, you have to buy some sand, plastic ornaments, dry wood or big stone and some aquarium figures like castle or mermaid or anything that will attract your taste. Buying the complete set of hobby aquarium plus some cheap decor will need a budget of more or less Euro 70.

How to handle your PATIENCE?

Are you a Dad that really can not wait or hate delays or easily frustrated for something that is sometimes unreasonable to be impatient? Then you are not alone (he he he). I don't know if it is really hereditary or someone acquire it from the environment. What I only know is being impatient is not a good example to our kids, friends and also to HIM. If it is also your struggle then I have some tips that might help or even lessen the difficulty.

  1. Avoid STRESS - do not accomplish a certain task or act too much as if it will be the end of the world. Prioritize the things to be done at home. You are not a robot that could do everything or anything. If you can see some problems at home like something to be repaired or the lawn has to be cut or cook some food for the kids then do not be stressed. Prioritizing some task at home is the only solution to avoid it.
  2. Weigh the PROS and CONS - try to asses the situation first. You must have the ability to see the big PICTURE. Ask yourself WHY first. Do not blurt out first because the consequences might be negative. Pause and think for what you want to say, to avoid hurting or offending someone.
  3. Be COMPASSIONATE - learn to take responsibility for other feeling and well-being. If you have compassionate heart then you have the ability to help those people who are in pain.
  4. Learn the PROCESS - doing something at home is a process. Sometimes it needs much time to accomplish. Do not have this attitude of 'rush rush rush'. It will only ruin your nice day with your kids and wife. Slow down!
  5. WAIT - it is about having FAITH, be patient and believing in your goals. Let go of the disbelief and doubt in achieving your goal.
HE will support and always there to help achieve the things you desire.
BE PATIENT!

Self-confidence for kids

'I can't play basketball coz I am not too tall for the sport'. 'I can't dance coz nobody teach me how to since I was born'. I can't join the drama play in our school coz I am afraid people might laugh when I deliver my part'. 'I can't..I can't...and please Mom, Dad do not tell me to do it coz I can't!'

It really hurt sometimes if we as a parents hear those words from our kids. Right?! Being a parents, somehow we have the vital part in developing the self-confidence of our kids. How?

  • Give them the opportunities to do things at early age.

  • Make your kids feel good about themselves by saying nice words and full of encouragement.

  • Your kids must learn to trust their own abilities.

  • Teach your kids on how to overcome barriers and obstacles and to be positive again after doing some mistakes or failures. And learn from that failure.

  • Parents should have good self-confidence also. If you don't have also a self-confidence then it is like 'Blind leading the blind'.

  • Remember that you are you and your child is your child. He or she has separate life with a unique set of challenges.

And do not forget

Gentle correction is also important to develop the self-confidence of our kids.

How to care your ROSE?

'I will have a lot of rose in our garden, it should be different colors' my wife said 2 years ago when we decided to buy a house with a big garden. It is easy to say but how could you maintain a healthy rose for the rest of the summer specially if it has 'white dust or powdery mildew' all over including the buds and the leaves. I have tried every liquid chemical solution in the market but only one natural mix can help our rose. Just prepare 1 cup of normal milk and 8 cups of water. Mix it and use a spray to treat your roses at home. It is a better way to do it early in the morning around 6 AM. Be sure to treat not only the upper portion of the leaves but also the lower one. Do it twice a week and you will see some positive changes after a couple of months. Smile! (**Picture courtesy of Flickr)

Hint : Never plant your roses in a shadow places to avoid such disease.
